EXPERTISE & QUALITY

Our manufacturing facilities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines of Health Canada for Natural Health Products and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations. We follow a strict Quality Management Program including a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system. Our production plant is operated by a team of scientists and specialized technicians. Our quality control system ensures batch-to-batch product conformity. ORGANICOCEAN combines high-tech industrial equipments with 10 years of know-how in process development.

LOCATION

ORGANICOCEAN is located in the maritime region of the lower St-Lawrence River in the Province of Quebec, Canada. This strategic location ensures access to optimal volume of fresh marine raw materials. Our facilities are centralized around the city of Rimouski. Headquarters and production plant are located in Matane; the research laboratory is situated in the Marine Biotechnologies Research Center in Rimouski; seaweed's processing and packaging facilities are established at l'Isle Verte.

SEAWEED HARVEST

Our products are manufactured from the cold water brown seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum. This specie grows in the cold waters of the littoral coasts of Quebec (Canada). ORGANICOCEAN holds a seaweed harvest permit on the south shore of the lower St-Lawrence Estuary, from Kamouraska to Cap-à-l'Aigle (St-Simon).

The harvest is made at low tide on the south shore of the lower St-Lawrence Estuary from June to October in compliance with environmental and resource conservation guidelines. Seaweeds are manually cut at a minimum of 15 cm from the foot. The harvest area rotation is based on a three-year cycle. As soon as harvested, the seaweed is dried on-site in greenhouses to ensure optimal preservation of the fertilizing properties. The biochemical and microbiological quality of the lower St-Lawrence River's cold water is a guarantee of ORGANICOCEAN seaweed purity.
